Felipe Leon
He was Spanish poet. Representative of the creators exiles after the Civil War, his verses have a critical spirit and the fight against social injustice. The son of a notary, he spent his childhood in Sequeros (Salamanca) and in 1893 moved with his family to Santander. After studying in Madrid, he worked as a pharmacist in several cities while working as an actor for a traveling theater troupe.
He was imprisoned for debt, hospitals administered Guinea, and in 1922 traveled to Mexico, where he works as a librarian in Veracruz before cultural attache of the Spanish Embassy and professor of literature at American universities. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War was in Panama, whence he returned to Spain to support the Republican cause. In 1938 he finally exiled in Mexico.
